RANCH & FARM EXPERIENCE

Seven Cedars Farm — Lebanon, TN
Full-Time Farm Hand | Month of Apr 2025; Returned to position Nov 2025 - current

    • Exercise horses (light ground work, then walk, trot, lope in the outdoor arena)

    • Built and maintained 4-board fences

    • Run in and sort of 4 and 5-weight steers and heifers on foot for transportation.

    • Helped construct feedlot system: Dig 24in holes by hand or with gas auger, set telephone posts in concrete, squared and leveled, attached heavy-duty panels with metal strapping. Pull strings to square and adjust cement feed troughs.

    • Hang, level, and maintain gates

    • Conduct weekly herd and pasture fence inspections; round up, sort, and load a few steers per week for slaughter.

    • Barn and general construction (exterior and interior finishing)

    • Build temporary and permanent 3-6 strand barbed wire fences, and repair and maintain them.

    • Horse care: feeding, watering, picking hooves, lunging, washing, etc

    • Build horse stalls and run-ins

    • Farm animal feeding and care (a few goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, etc)

    • Help run in, run back, and overall manage steers for occasional chute-dodgin’ practice.


Double Rafter Ranch — Lodge Grass, MT
 Seasonal Ranch Hand/Wrangler Intern | May–Sep 2025

    • Assisted with herd health: chute vaccinated a total of 400 mature livestock and 350 calves, assisted with pasture doctoring, assisted in multiple brandings, including chute branding bulls. 

    • Assist with 6+ multi-day cattle drives in and around the Big Horn Mountains. Camping outdoors

    • Built barbed-wire fence and gates, set fire-proof H-braces with a two-man post pounder, then welded the joint on site in the mountains.

    • Performed mechanical repairs, like gator tire replacements, and replacement of a Dodge 6.7 water pump.

    • Assisted 75+ guests over the course of the cattle drives season, ensuring safety and engagement.

    • Stacked hay with a tractor. 

    • Assisted loading cow-calf pairs to the base of the Big Horn Mountains; then helped manage them when unloaded.

    • Fabricated and welded internal shelving units for a supply trailer

    • Hauled horses, trailers, and equipment through steep, technical mountain terrain in MT/WY.

    • Mended 4-board pasture fences and checked electric fencing after storms.

    • Participated in steer tipping and team roping practice.

    • Provided horse care, including feeding, watering & washing.

SKILLS

Ranch & Horsemanship: Catching, leading, tacking up, riding long hours (8+), basic cattle sorting, basic roping (heading & light heeling), basic doctoring, tagging, loading/unloading livestock. Picking hooves, lunging/warming/ + riding/exercising horses, feeding & watering. 

Leather & Fabric: Basic leather maintenance/conditioning/restoration. (restored a vintage saddle and WW2 bomber jacket) Basic leather sewing. (small personal projects). Basic fabric sewing skills.

Construction & Trades: Advanced woodworking and finishing, basic residential framing, basic electrical/plumbing, concrete work, basic welding (stick, MIG, flux-core); experienced and proficient with most all hand and power tools. Experience using and maintaining chainsaws.

Experience sanding, priming, painting, staining, and finishing wood and metal surfaces with both brushes and sprayers.

Advanced acoustic panel design and construction

Machinery & Vehicles: Basic tractor, skid steer, scissor/boom lift operation, can drive manual vehicles (daily driver is std.), and basic experience in hooking up and hauling trailers

Media & Production: Advanced studio and live audio engineering, production management, recording, editing, social media content planning and production, video editing, photography, and graphic design.
